Urban Living in City Village – Courier Mail Home

Strong sales have triggered the start of construction of Urban Edge, a $100 million three-stage residential development at Kelvin Grove.

Developer Pradella has already secured sales nearing $50 million following the release of Urban Edge’s first two buildings, Vista and Horizons, in May.

However, the development will ultimately comprise three buildings, with Vista and Horizons delivering 206 apartments while the final 15-level building, to be launched in 2012, will deliver a further 176 apartments.

Located within Kelvin Grove Urban Village, Urban Edge offers buyers every lifestyle convenience with shops, entertainment and transport options at their doorstep.

Development manager Brett Lentz said having an attractive product in the right location and at the right price had enticed both investors and owner occupiers to buy at Urban Edge.

Pradella has been thrilled to see Urban Edge record strong sales in a competitive property environment, he said.

Mr. Lentz said Vista and Horizons were already 45 per cent sold and the company expected continued interest in the development.

Construction of the six-level Vista building is expected to be completed in late 2012 or early 2013 while the 12-level Horizons will be finished in early or mid-2013.

The development offers the highest buildings in the village, giving buyers uninterrupted panoramic views to the CBD, Victoria Park Golf Course and neighbouring parklands, Mr. Lentz said. Kelvin Grove represents an attractive proposition for both astute investors and owner-occupiers, with strong transport connections and the lifestyle benefits only available in inner-city locations. Mr. Lentz said Urban Edge’s contemporary open plan apartments would include landscaped gardens and pool areas.
