Life on the River Woos Buyers – Courier Mail Home

Buyer confidence in Brisbane’s riverfront apartment market is alive and well, with Pradella’s luxury West End development Waters Edge recording $7.5 million in sales in the past six months.

The $260 million Waters Edge development consists of two eight-storey buildings, Drift and Reach, with a mixture of 243 one, two and three- bedroom apartments available in both towers. Reach was completed in December 2010 and Drift in September.

Waters Edge development manager Brett Lentz said Waters Edge was one of the last West End sites offering panoramic views of the Brisbane River, and the strong sales to date were a result of the buildings superb location and high quality build.

Water’s Edge residences start from $499,000 making them a smart investment opportunity in an area undergoing extensive urban renewal and located only minutes from the CBD, Mr. Lentz said.

The development also recently won the 2011 Housing Industry Association’s coveted Queensland Region Home of the Year and Queensland Region Apartment Project of the Year awards, based on design, construction, professionalism, innovation, and housing technology.

Mr. Lentz said the awards highlighted how Pradella has achieved its vision to provide a quality master planned residential community which maximized the natural assets of the Brisbane River and surrounding parklands.

Fundamental to the appeal of Waters Edge is the landscape and urban design elements, which have been drawn from the riverside location, Mr. Lentz said.

With facilities ranging from an air-conditioned gymnasium to an infinity edge lap pool, wading pool, an outdoor room with barbeque facilities, and a multi-purpose theatre and recreation room, Waters Edge offers the complete package.

Waters Edge is the first stage of a $500 million redevelopment of the three-hectare West End site, which will ultimately provide a mixture of residential living, retail and commercial premises.
