WEST END – A LIFESTYLE DESTINATION UPDATE
There has never been a better time to live in the eclectic, riverfront suburb of West End, with exciting upgrades to the city’s river access and local schools recently announced.
Just 3km from the CBD, West End is already a sought-after postcode and will soon be even more accessible thanks to a new Brisbane City Council plan to give the Brisbane River a face lift – opening it up to residents and tourists.
There will be increased access to the river via tour boats; on-demand water taxis; kayaks, canoes and paddle boards; and yachts, small boats and jet skis.
All of these new transport options are planned to take off, right on the door step of the new Riverside Precinct.
As the hottest lifestyle hub in Brisbane, West End has also emerged as one of the best places in the city to raise a young family. With many families taking advantage of the ease and luxury of new apartments, as well as a strong investment in local education, including the recently announced $10.75 million masterplan to upgrade and expand West End State School.
Not only is the suburb home to more restaurants, cafes and bars per capita than anywhere else in Brisbane, it has plenty of open, green spaces and it’s a hop, skip and a jump to Brisbane’s knock-out cultural precinct.
There are also two world-class universities within 5km of West End, and families are drawn to the suburb’s proximity to superb schools, colleges, hospitals and medical facilities.
