The holidays are well and truly here but for parents, there’s only a few weeks of festivities to enjoy before organisation needs to begin for the new school year ahead.

West End is home to a wonderful array of schools catering to everyone from little learners to university students.

Whether you’re moving to this thriving riverside suburb in the future or are currently a resident, getting to know the education options within the community is a great idea when planning for your child’s future.

There are two schools located within West End’s catchment which suit students heading off to school for Prep through to Year 12.

With a longstanding reputation for academic and sporting success, Brisbane State High School (BSHS) was established in 1921 and has grown dramatically, with a current population of over 3,400 students housed on two campus sites on Vulture and Merivale Streets. BSHS has come to symbolise the excellence of state school education with many students having contributed to their state and country through their achievements at the highest levels in public life, sport, business and the community.

West End is a great hub for university-aged students due to its convenient proximity to both Griffith University’s South Bank Campus and the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus which are 2.5km and 1.7km away from Montague Markets, respectively.
