Drifting to Life – Courier Mail Home
West End’s newest residential apartment precinct is coming to life, with the finishing touches being put on stage two of the Waters Edge development. One of three developments planned for the three hectare site, the first stage of Waters Edge, Reach, delivered 122 apartments when it was completed in December 2010.
When the second stage, Drift, is completed in a few months, it will provide a further 112 luxury apartments. Beth Kemp recently moved into a Waters Edge apartment with her husband and teenage son and could not be happier with her new residence.
“We were living in a four-bedroom house on the Sunshine Coast and for health reasons we moved to Brisbane and downsized to an apartment,” Ms Kemp said. “But we haven’t missed having a house at all.”
“The two-bedroom apartment we bought at Waters Edge is very spacious and has a huge balcony which we use all the time.” MS Kemp added that the Water’s Edge facilities were also a great feature of the development. “We all enjoy using the gym and pool and reading on the lawn,” she said. “The family also enjoys the lifestyle of the West End area.”
“Every Saturday morning, we walk to West End to have breakfast in a café before strolling around the markets and buying fresh fruit and vegetables.” Ms Kemp’s enjoyment of the Water’s Edge lifestyle doesn’t surprise Pradella’s development manager Brett Lentz, who believes Waters Edge appeals to a largely unfulfilled market. “Many people recognising the unique attributes of apartment living, in an area undergoing vast urban renewal just minutes from the CBD,” Mr Lentz said.
