Sherwood Attracts Attention – Quest Westside News

A Sherwood master planned development was named as a finalist in the 2010 Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Boral Awards within the Urban Renewal category.

Parklands at Sherwood, by Pradella Constructions, is a new residential development featuring a variety of lifestyle options including apartments, villas and manor homes.

Located less than 10km from the Brisbane CBD, Parklands estate us a leafy residential pocket with schools, transport and Indooroopilly Shopping Town nearby. A selection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments are on sale now, with prices starting from $389,000.

Pradella Constructions development manager Nick Hinton said he was delighted that the UDIA recognized Parklands as a finalist. “The Parklands site was originally home to a group of light industrial sheds and a concrete batching plant,” Mr Hinton said.

“We have transformed the site into a master planned development providing a unique mix of architecturally designed homes, villas and apartments to the western suburbs. Add to that a magnificent pool, three covered outdoor pavilions and a theatre room.”

UDIA president Warren Harris said there was an increase in residential development award entries this year, which he believed reflected a growing confidence returning to the development sector.

“The awards night is always a morale booster for our industry, and this year it was particularly so,” Mr Harris said.

“Despite our members having weathered the challenges of the last two years, many have not only survived, but have succeeded in delivering innovative and excellent developments.”
